Celtic will look to sell Odsonne Edouard early in the transfer window, according to Kevin Campbell.

The former Arsenal and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed an exit will be agreed “sharpish” as the next permanent manager of the club will want funds for summer signings.

According to the Daily Record, Leicester City are ready to “crank up” their pursuit of the centre-forward with Brendan Rodgers making him one of their top targets.

Edouard is fast approaching the final 12 months of his contract at Parkhead and as a result could be sold for as little as £10million this summer.

Football Insider understands the French striker has made it clear to the board that he wants to leave at the end of the season.

West Ham, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Aston Villa have also shown an interest in Edouard.

When asked by Football Insider if he expected Edouard’s future to be resolved quickly, Campbell said: “I think an Edouard deal will be done pretty sharpish.

“Celtic go back earlier than a lot of teams so the last thing they want is for this to be dragging on late into the window.

“Again, they have to make moves, especially if a new manager is coming in. The new manager will want to know what he is working with and he will want funds.

“Edouard leaving is something that needs to happen pretty sharpish when the window opens.”
