Celtic tipped to swoop for Ben Davies after Klopp reveal - Mills
Danny Mills has suggested Celtic could make a move for Liverpool defender Ben Davies in the summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England and Leeds United defender admitted Davies will be disappointed by how things have turned out at Anfield after his January move.
The 25-year-old is yet to feature for Jurgen Klopp’s since his arrival from Preston North End on deadline day.
It does not look like that will change either with Nat Phillips earning plaudits for his display in the Champions League.
Jurgen Klopp hinted ahead of Liverpool’s game with Wolves on Monday night that Phillips and Ozan Kabak will now be his preferred centre-back pairing and Davies will not start if the duo are fit.
Celtic had a long-standing interest in the Englishman but were gazumped at the eleventh hour by the Premier League champions, as exclusively revealed by this site.

And Mills has suggested they could renew their interest in the summer.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It was a strange signing, wasn’t it? It was almost desperation bringing in somebody from the Championship.
“He always knew he was going to be on the periphery and get few opportunities.
“He signs and then you bring in somebody else and he doesn’t get an opportunity.
“The move is good financially for him but equally he hasn’t had the opportunity to prove how good he is at that level.
“Yes, it was Liverpool, but as a player, you’re always going to that club thinking ‘I want to prove myself, I want to prove that I could do it at this level.’
“He just hasn’t had the opportunity and that’s what he’ll feel most disappointed about.
“It depends on where Celtic are looking at come the end of the season. What sort of players they want in, what sort of players they want out.
“But yes, possibly something like that could be a good move for him and in hindsight, he’s going from a position of strength and a better financial package having gone via Liverpool.”
