Kasper Hogh: Celtic working intensively to finalise deal for 'exceptional' forward
Celtic are advancing in talks over the signing of Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh and are well placed to complete a deal, sources have told Football Insider.
The 25-year-old was a target for the Hoops in January, too, but they ultimately decided against lodging an official bid.
Sources say Celtic are working intensively on a deal for Hogh and are increasingly confident of securing an agreement.
But there is competition for the player. Norwich City also had a £7million bid rejected in January and it is expected that the Norwegian club will demand a similar fee this summer.
Hogh is under contract until December 2029 and has enjoyed a superb season for Bodo/Glimt, scoring 15 goals in 30 games across all competitions.
That includes the Champions League as Norway operate on a March-November schedule, and it is there where he caught the attention of much of Europe.
The Denmark international scored twice against Manchester City in January and netted against Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Sporting CP as Bodo/Glimt were knocked out of the last 16.

Celtic's search for a striker has dominated much of the discussion surrounding their transfer business.
The Hoops decided against activating options to buy all three of the forwards they loaned in January - Junior Adamu, Joel Mvuka and Tomas Cvancara.
One has arrived this summer so far - Camilo Duran - who has signed from Qarabag for a fee in the region of £6m.
The 24-year-old scored 15 goals last season and appears to be a strong option, but Martin O'Neill's team needs further bolstering in attack.
Hogh could be exactly the right man for the job, and it appears that Celtic's move to sign him is getting closer.
Gianluca Di Marzio told SpilXperten that the Dane likely will complete the switch. "It definitely looks like there's a really big chance he'll move to Celtic," the Italian journalist said.
"It's absolutely correct that Celtic and Bodo/Glimt are in contact with each other, and over the next few days we'll find out if they can land a deal."
Hogh has 'transformed'
Much has been said about Celtic and their decision-makers this summer. There has been a severe lack of movement and O'Neill's squad is nowhere near ready for the start of the season.
Reinforcements are needed all over the squad and the Hoops could seriously suffer in the early weeks of the season for a second consecutive year.
Those problems will remain if they sign Hogh, but there will no doubting that they have pulled off an outrageous coup.
"He has been on an incredible journey and has simply grown up. He has gone from being a little baby to becoming a grown man," Bodo/Glimt midfielder Ulrik Saltnes told VG when asked about the forward in August 2025.
"I have never experienced anyone having such a transformation. You see it in every aspect. He is an exceptional teammate and an exceptional training player. He gets paid for it too and it is damn cool to watch."
