Celtic's summer transfer window has been closed for weeks now, but deals can still be struck behind the scenes at Parkhead.

Camilo Duran and Mika Baur have been incredible additions to the squad, but the majority of the club's summer signings have been subpar.

The Hoops are currently sitting top of the Scottish Premiership, despite three defeats on the bounce and Martin O'Neill questioning his own future.

Being slammed twice by Derek McInnes has clearly taken its toll on the 74-year-old, but there is plenty of time to turn things around at Celtic Park.

Months remain until the January transfer window opens, but those behind the scenes could soon be handing out new contracts to keep morale high.

Football Insider has taken a look at three players who should be putting pen to paper on new contracts sooner rather than later.

Luke McCowan

Luke McCowan has only played a bit-part role so far in 2026-27 campaign, but previous seasons have proven his ability to step up when it matters.

The 28-year-old's current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2028, and if the Hoops don't offer him anything, it won't be long until he finds a new club.

Anthony Ralston

Anthony Ralston has played just three games in 2026-27, but he remains an important member of the squad as reinforcement.

The 27-year-old full-back has already entered the final 12 months of his contract, so it won't be long until he's getting in contact with potential suitors.

Colby Donovan

Another full-back, and this time it's 20-year-old Colby Donovan, who has gone from strength to strength at Parkhead this season.

Many of his appearances came off the bench last season, but he will become a key figure in no time. The young sensation is a star in the making. His contract needs extending beyond 2028.
