Celtic fans say the same thing about Colby Donovan after what he did vs LASK
Colby Donovan has received heavy praise from the Celtic fanbase after his performance in the 3-0 victory over LASK on Wednesday.
The Hoops took one giant step towards the Champions League’s league stage as they beat the Austrian side comfortably in the first leg of the playoffs.
Numerous stars were fantastic for Martin O’Neill’s side, with Camilo Duran earning the headlines for his brace.
However, one player who has won a shoutout from much of the fanbase is Donovan.
The 19-year-old started his second game in a row on Wednesday and provided a commanding performance at right-back.
Now, many supporters are claiming that his display was his best yet in a Celtic shirt as the youngster continues to develop.

After breaking into the first-team last season, Donovan has had a difficult time at the Old Firm club.
Despite winning a domestic double, the right-back’s performances were often inconsistent, which resulted in him not playing a single minute in the post-split fixtures.
However, so far in the 2026-27 campaign, he has been solid, and against LASK, he was excellent.
It was clear that throughout much of the game, the Austrian side were targeting the youngster.
Yet, he let nothing past him, and was easily one of Celtic’s best players on the pitch.
As a result, when the full-time whistle was blown, many of the Celtic Park faithful were quick to heap praise on the defender.
How good was Donovan vs LASK?
Donovan was no doubt excellent against LASK.
When examining his stats from the tie, the defender was clearly influential at both ends of the field.
According to Fotmob on 20 August, Donovan created three chances, one big chance, 0.36 xA, two tackles, seven clearances, one interception and five recoveries.
As a result, the youngster deservedly walked away from the tie with a clean sheet and was perhaps unlucky not to register an assist.
Now, it remains to be seen if the defender can build on this performance and replicate it on a consistent basis.
If so, he could end up giving O’Neill a selection headache throughout the 2026-27 campaign, with Alistair Johnston currently seen as the main right-back.
