Celtic at risk of Martin O’Neill walking out after Sky journalist's update – verdict
Celtic are at massive risk of Martin O’Neill walking away from the club if they do not kick-start their summer transfer window soon.
The Scottish Premiership champions are yet to bring in a single new face this summer despite an inconsistent 2025-26 campaign.
Many of Celtic’s targets have moved on to other clubs, despite the Hoops being in desperate need of multiple new signings.
Motherwell’s Tawanda Maswanhise has been heavily linked with a move to Celtic, with O’Neill a huge admirer of the striker.
However, recent reports have suggested that Anderlecht have now joined the race for the 23-year-old.
If Celtic were to fail to bring in yet another key target, O’Neill would surely consider walking away from the club.
Celtic are risk of missing out on Tawanda Maswanhise
Celtic have long been linked with a move for Tawanda Maswanhise.
The Motherwell man finished as the top scorer in the Scottish Premiership last season with 17 goals as the club qualified for Europe.
Now, after Sky journalist Anthony Joseph’s report that Anderlecht are eyeing a move for the attacker, O’Neill will be fuming.
The Hoops are already at risk of missing out on Elijah Just after his performances for New Zealand in the World Cup.
If they were to miss out on Maswanhise, who O’Neill is clearly a big fan of, the manager may just consider walking away from the project.
A massive squad overhaul is clearly needed at Celtic this summer, and as it stands, the board appear happy to repeat the same mistakes from last season in the transfer window.
Who else are Celtic interested in?
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Celtic are keeping tabs on former West Brom defender Michael Parker.
Parker has shown impressive form for Swedish outfit Orgryte IS, which has caught the attention of the Hoops.
The 21-year-old could become Celtic’s first signing of the summer if they were to act on their ongoing interest.
However, they face competition for his signature, with Rangers as well as Anderlecht and Udinese also eyeing a move.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen who Celtic’s first signing of the summer will be, in what is one of their most important transfer windows in recent history.
