The full stats show Celtic who they must prioritise out of Leo Cavallius and Balazs Toth
Celtic must prioritise a move for Brommapojkarna goalkeeper Leo Cavallius over Blackburn's Balazs Toth as both players are linked to Parkhead.
Martin O'Neill is looking to add another goalkeeper to his ranks before the close of the summer transfer window.
Kasper Schmeichel's injury saw Viljami Sinisalo step in as their new number one at the end of last season, and he has remained in the role after the Dane's retirement.
Ross Doohan is his current back-up as it stands, but is yet to ever feature for the Hoops' first team at 28-years-old.
Numerous keepers have been linked to Parkhead, with young Swede Cavallius and Rovers stopper Toth the two most prominent targets right now.
While the club look to be weighing up which player to move for, statistics from the last 12 months highlight that Cavallius would be the better option for Celtic this summer.
Leo Cavallius performed better than Balazs Toth and has a higher ceiling
Cavallius has emerged as a regular for Brommapojkarna in the Swedish top flight in 2026 at just 21-years-old.
He has been one of the top-performing goalkeepers in his 16 Allsvenskan appearances during their current campaign, despite his club being sat 10th of 16 teams.
28-year-old Toth, meanwhile, featured 34 times in the English second tier last term as Blackburn avoided relegation by five points.
Cavallius boasts a better save percentage in his respective division (70.1% to 69.3%), while he has also made 20.9 accurate passes per 90 minutes at a rate of 75.4% compared to Toth's 14.4 passes and 51.3% accuracy.
The 21-year-old even created a big chance for his club, which was one more than Toth in 1,600 fewer minutes.
He clearly has a higher ceiling, being seven years younger, and could surely become Celtic's number one for several seasons to come, while Toth would be battling with Sinisalo into his 30's.
Will Celtic try to sign Nick Pope as Newcastle exit looms?
Pope has been linked to Celtic this summer as his future at Newcastle looks uncertain following the arrivals of Lukas Hornicek and Ewen Jaouen.
The 34-year-old struggled for form last season and shared number one duties with Aaron Ramsdale, with new manager Matthias Jaissle hinting that he has been told he can leave the club.
While he has been linked to Parkhead, sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Celtic will struggle to afford a package to sign Pope due to his lofty wage demands.
It certainly seems unlikely that any approach is made before the window closes, especially with Premier League clubs reportedly keen on his services.
