Celtic fans appalled by Mika Baur update – ‘It’s disgusting’
Celtic fans were left appalled by their board after it was revealed that the club are yet to meet Paderborn’s price tag for Mika Baur.
The German club reportedly value the 22-year-old midfielder at only £4million due to his contract expiry in the summer of 2027.
However, if no one meets this fee, reports have now emerged that Paderborn are prepared to keep hold of him for another season and let him go on a free transfer.
The Bundesliga outfit are under no pressure to sell and are continuing to plan for next season with the midfielder in mind.
This news has appalled Celtic fans, as the club continues to haggle over fees for stars rather than getting the deal done.
The Hoops have only brought Camilo Duran so far this transfer window, despite the 2026-27 campaign beginning next week.
Celtic fans want Mika Baur deal done
Signing Bauk could be vital for Celtic this summer.
The club is likely to lose at least one of their star midfielders this transfer window, with Reo Hatate, Arne Engels and Benjamin Nygren all linked away.
Therefore, bringing in a player like Bauk in preparation for a departure could help Martin O’Neill out massively.
However, Dennis Bayer’s recent report indicates that Celtic are yet to meet Paderborn’s valuation of the 22-year-old, which could now see them miss out on the signing.
As a result, many Celtic fans have taken to X, furious with the club once again, as they risk missing out on another transfer target.
Who else are Celtic linked with this summer?
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Celtic are in advanced talks to sign Kasper Hogh from Bodo/Glimt.
The Hoops are well placed to complete a deal for the 25-year-old striker, who heavily impressed in last season’s Champions League.
Sources say Celtic are working intensively on a deal for Hogh and are increasingly confident of securing an agreement.
The club are in need of a new attacker with Daizen Maeda set to move to Ipswich Town after an £8m fee was agreed.
However, it remains to be seen if Celtic are able to get a deal over the line for Hogh in the coming days as they look to build a squad capable of successfully defending the Scottish Premiership title.
