Sources: Wilder gives green light for Sheffield United to sell senior man for 6-figure fee

Sheffield United defender are willing to sell Kean Bryan before the window shuts amid interest from Charlton Athletic and Huddersfield, Football Insider can reveal.

The two Championship clubs are looking to bolster their defences ahead of the transfer cut-off on Friday of next week.

A Bramall Lane source has told Football Insider they are aware of interest from Huddersfield and Charlton in Kean and manager Chris Wilder is willing to let him go.

The centre-back, 23, is valued at around £750,000 by United, who signed him on a free transfer from Man City in the summer of 2018.

Bryan has 18 months remaining on his contract after arriving from the champions on a three-year deal.

He has struggled to break into Wilder’s settled starting XI during the two most successful seasons in the club’s modern history.

Bryan has made just four appearances since his arrival, one last season and a further three in the current campaign.

Each of those have come in the domestic cup competitions and it is telling that the senior man has failed to make a single matchday squad for a Premier League match.

Huddersfield and Charlton have been very active in the transfer window this month as they look to avoid relegation from the Championship.

Danny Cowley’s side are 20th, five points above the drop zone, while Lee Bowyer’s Londoners are one place and one point ahead of them.
