Chelsea target Lautaro Martinez is interested in leaving Inter Milan for the Premier League this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

A well-placed source has told this site that the 25-year-old is willing to move to England "if the right opportunity presents itself".

It is believed the red-hot Inter striker, who scored in Tuesday's (16 May) Champions League semi-final against AC Milan, would cost in the region of £70million.

Inter look set to re-qualify for the Champions League next season regardless of what happens in June's final, meaning the Nerazzurri are unlikely to be forced to sell key players this summer.

Sources with knowledge of the situation have revealed that the Blues will now turn attention to Martinez, who is seen as a more affordable and attainable option than Napoli's Victor Osimhen or Tottenham's Harry Kane.

The 48-cap Argentina international has been instrumental in the 2022-23 campaign for Inter.

He has notched 25 goals and 10 assists across 52 games this season, and has taken the captaincy from defender Milan Skriniar.

Martinez, who joined Inter in 2018, also helped Argentina lift the 2022 World Cup in Qatar – making six appearances in the tournament.

Chelsea have struggled to find the net throughout the 2022-23 campaign with Kai Havertz and Raheem Sterling currently the Blues' top scorers having scored nine goals each.
