Lamine Camara looks to be moving closer to joining Chelsea as top bookmakers cut their odds on agreeing a deal with Monaco.

Several Premier League sides have been linked to Camara after he shone for Monaco last season.

The prinicipality club have been forced into a fire sale of key stars this summer after disappointing campaign only saw them qualify for the Conference League.

22-year-old Camara's future remains up in the air, with clubs only having a matter of hours to get an agreement over the line for his signature.

Chelsea are now the clear odds-on favourites to sign him with two of the biggest bookmakers after advancing in talks with Monaco.

Reports on Tuesday morning claimed that they have seen a £38million bid for his services rejected, but they remain keen to sign a new midfielder as Enzo Fernandez edges closer to joining Man City.

Chelsea see odds slashed to 2/9 to sign Lamine Camara before the deadline passes

Sources exclusively revealed to Football Insider on Monday that Chelsea were "close" to finalising a deal to sign Camara, having already agreed personal terms with his camp.

The Senegalese international midfielder ranked highly among Ligue 1 midfielders last season in several key statistics, and has started this season in fine form too.

He has scored once in his four appearances for Monaco so far this term, playing the full 90 minutes and helping them to wins in each respective game.

Chelsea remain keen to bring in a new midfielder ahead of Tuesday's 11pm deadline, with other targets still on their radar following Monaco's initial rejection.

They are still the clear favourites to land Camara ahead of the competition, though, with bookies slashing their odds to 2/9 to be his next club in the last few hours.

Man City ready to meet huge Enzo Fernandez asking price after two big deals agreed

What is the latest on Enzo Fernandez to Man City?

The Blues' desire to sign a new midfielder comes as Man City enter talks over a move for star man Fernandez.

Enzo Maresca is known to be a huge admirer of the Argentine international, with talkSPORT's Alex Crook reporting on Tuesday afternoon that Chelsea have rejected a bid worth £120m from City for his services.

There looks to be a lot to do to agree on a deal ahead of the deadline, with Chelsea demanding a bigger offer to go through with the sale.
