Morgan Rogers has revealed his happiness at England teammate Jordan Henderson joining him at Chelsea on social media.

Rogers arrived at Chelsea from Aston Villa last month for a British record fee of £117million.

The 24-year-old has completed a move to Stamford Bridge after becoming one of the Premier League's most exciting players in a two-and-a-half-year stint at Villa.

He struggled to make his mark on England's World Cup campaign before they were knocked out at the semi-final stage, but did build some strong relationships with his international teammates.

Veteran midfielder Henderson was one of those, as Rogers spoke publicly about his impact on the squad and priceless leadership skills after many fans and pundits questioned his inclusion in the squad.

Henderson has now joined Rogers at Chelsea after leaving Brentford, with the pair both playing their part in Xabi Alonso's squad overhaul this summer.

Henderson's valuable experience has seen him identified as a top target for Alonso this summer, with Chelsea fans crying out for more leaders in their squad.

The 36-year-old captained Liverpool to Premier League and Champions League glory in his 12 years at the club, and featured 32 times across all competitions for the Bees last season.

Reports of the Blues' interest in his services took many in the footballing world by surprise, but a deal looked to be edging closer after they signed fellow veteran Danny Welbeck.

Chelsea have now announced his arrival on social media after he left Brentford by mutual consent last week, with Rogers reaching out to offer his thoughts.

He took to his Instagram story to react to the official announcement of Henderson's signing, saying: "So happy" with several heart-eyes and blue heart emojis.

What has Rogers said about Henderson this summer?

Sources have told Football Insider that Rogers is set to cost Chelsea around £135m in amortisation by the time his five-year contract is up.

Henderson will, of course, cost a lot less in his two years at the club, but Rogers has made it clear that his leadership skills are worth a lot to a young squad.

Speaking to England's in-house media about the 36-year-old in June, he said: "He's the best guy I’ve ever come across in football. If people did a blind ranking of people they want at the camp beforehand, he’d be in everyone’s top five.

"Hendo is the funniest guy (in the England squad). Whether he is smiling, no matter how he is, he has that persona and that character."
