Chelsea confirm next signing after Morgan Rogers as 'significant fee' agreed
Chelsea have just announced attacking midfielder Harrison Bettoni as their next signing after landing Morgan Rogers earlier this week.
The 18-year-old has left League One side Wigan Athletic to move to Stamford Bridge, where he will initially link up with the academy setup.
Bettoni is tipped to be a future star, and has penned a contract that will keep him in West London until at least the summer of 2030.
Wigan confirmed the starlet's departure on Thursday, and revealed that the clubs have settled on a "significant fee" in terms of compensation for the player.
Bettoni was out of contract with his boyhood club this summer, and decided that now was the right time to move on, despite the Latics making multiple offers of a new deal.
Chelsea have won the race for his signature, after a debut senior campaign that saw the youngster net three goals from just nine starts in League One.

Bettoni's exploits for Wigan in 2025-26 saw him emerge on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in Europe in recent months.
Football Insider first revealed at the start of June that Chelsea were in talks with Bettoni and his camp over a possible deal, but they were far from the only suitors for him.
Manchester City also held discussions with the starlet, while a move to AC Milan was even a major possibility for him.
The Blues then managed to agree a deal for Bettoni later in June, who is seen as having the potential to become a star in the capital.
Xabi Alonso's side did not have to pay a transfer fee as such due to the midfielder's contract situation, but have had to fork out on compensation due to Bettoni being under the age of 24.
He will initially represent his club at youth level this season, but is sure to be a player who Alonso and his coaching staff keep a close eye on as he continues to develop.
Chelsea make approach to sign John Stones
Football Insider revealed earlier this week that Chelsea have registered their interest in a move to sign John Stones as a free agent this summer.
The former Manchester City centre-back starred for England at this summer's World Cup, and has been linked with some of Europe's top clubs in recent weeks.
Sources say that the 32-year-old is looking for a two or three-year contract for his next move, and feels that he still has what it takes to play at the highest level.
Stones managed just five starts in the Premier League last season, as he endured another injury-hit campaign.
