Chris Sutton slams 35-year-old after Rangers win v Hamilton

By Harvey Byrne

Chris Sutton has slammed the performance of referee John Beaton in the clash between Rangers and Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.

The Ibrox giants ran out a comfortable 6-0 victory in the Scottish Cup quarter final clash at their famous home.

However, it was not a fixture without it’s controversy and many felt Beaton, 35, got some big decisions wrong, including the penalty awarded to Rangers which started the scoring.

Now, Sutton, who is often unwilling to praise the Gers shared on his personal Twitter account that Beaton’s hat-trick of errors was the difference between Rangers and Hamilton.

He also claimed that Joe Garner should have seen a red card and he bagged a hat-trick of goals in the victory.

Rangers fans will soak up the enormous victory despite Sutton’s words after a number of poor results between January and March, including Mark Warburton’s departure from the club.

The Gers also won in the league in midweek and supporters will now be hoping for a turnaround in their poor form.

But, their next match certainly presents a huge test as they travel to face fierce rivals Celtic, who are still unbeaten this season and have already won three of the Old Firm derbies this campaign.

In other Rangers news, fans reacted to Jon Toral’s performance against Hmilton on Saturday.
