Chris Sutton has named more Celtic players than those from Rangers in his team of the week even though Brendan Rodgers’ side were held to a draw by Hibernian on Saturday.
Callum McGregor’s brace was not enough to earn the Hoops all three points against the Edinburgh club, however it did earn him a spot in Sutton’s team, as well as Craig Gordon who pulled off a stunning save to deny Steven Whittaker.
Declan John was the only Gers player named in the ex-Celtic striker’s team, with the on-loan full-back scoring a surprise brace in the 4-1 win at Hamilton on Friday night.
Sutton posted his team of the week on his personal Twitter account on Monday.

Niall McGinn was also worthy a spot in Sutton’s XI after he, like McGregor, scored a brace in Hibernian’s trip to Parkhead on Saturday when Neil Lennon nearly became the manager to end Celtic’s unbeaten run in domestic competition.
Both of the Glasgow giants now face a long wait until their next fixture with the international break now underway.
The Hoops lost ground in their bid to win the Premiership title over the weekend with Aberdeen and Rangers winning their matches, meaning that the Dons are now level on 20 points with them at the summit of the table.
Celtic play Dundee next on October 14 while Rangers face a testing trip to St. Johnstone a day earlier.
