Chris Sutton: This is the position Rodgers must look into strengthening at Celtic this summer
By Harvey Byrne
Outspoken pundit and former striker Chris Sutton believes manager Brendan Rodgers must look into strengthen the goalkeeping position this summer.
Veteran Craig Gordon has been Celtic’s established number one for three years now after signing on a free transfer in the summer of 2014.
However, he came under some criticism in Scotland’s 2-2 draw against England on Saturday after failing to prevent Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s goal with a weak wrist, while he was also beaten at his near post for Harry Kane’s late equaliser.
Sutton felt that he was “poor for both goals” in a post via his personal Twitter account on Saturday and told that the goalkeeper position is one Rodgers must look at this window.
Craig Gordon poor for both goals… Goalkeeper still a position Brendan Rodgers must look at IMO…

Gordon did actually spend parts of the start of the last campaign on the bench after Rodgers brought in goalkeeper Dorus de Vries last summer, who he had previously worked with at Swansea.

However, the Dutchman was soon axed to the bench after conceding 12 goals in just five appearances for the Glasgow giants.
Gordon himself was then heavily linked with a move to the Premier League with Chelsea in January, but he put pen to paper on a new deal taking him up 2020.
The Scotsman was key to the Hoops securing a domestic treble last season, playing 55 matches in all competitions, conceding just 38 times and he will be hoping to retain his position in the next campaign.
