Christiansen delivers update on Leeds striker availability ahead of clash v Ipswich
By Danny Wright
Thomas Christiansen has revealed that Pierre-Michel Lasogga is available for Leeds United’s clash with Ipswich at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
Lasogga, 25, and his partner have been expecting the birth of their child over the past couple of weeks, sparking doubt over whether the German striker will miss any matches.
However Leeds boss Christiansen has confirmed that there has been “no news” about the baby’s birth and has been indirectly quoted on Yorkshire Evening Post report Lee Sobot’s personal Twitter account that he will be in contention to face Ipswich when Championship action resumes this weekend.

Lasogga has been awaiting the birth of his child ever since he arrived at Leeds on loan from Hamburg SV in the summer transfer window.
There was initial doubt over whether the German powerhouse would be available to make his debut against Burton Albion earlier this month, however on that occasion he made it clear that he wouldn’t miss the game, in which he scored two goals in a 5-0 win.

Leeds fans, as well as Lasogga and his partner, will no doubt hope that the baby is born soon, and it seems as though as long as it doesn’t happen as the Ipswich clash nears, he is firmly in Christiansen’s first-team plans.
Kemar Roofe, Jay-Roy Grot and Pawel Cibicki are the Whites’ options to step in for the loan striker should he miss the game.
