Thomas Christiansen has claimed that the next three fixtures will prove to be massive in Leeds United’s goal of achieving promotion to the Premier League this season.
Leeds are looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season at Millwall in the Championship last week when they welcome Ipswich to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
Christiansen has already masterminded a League Cup upset by knocking Burnley out of the competition on Tuesday since the defeat at the New Den, but returning to league action this weekend will prove to be a different test from a midweek fixture that was full of fringe players looking to prove themselves to the Danish manager.
After Ipswich, Leeds have two testing away trips to Cardiff and Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday, who both look to be mounting their own promotion bids at this early stage of the campaign.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Christiansen has made it clear that he is under no illusions as how to how difficult the upcoming fixtures will be and how they could impact the entire campaign.
Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Lee Sobot quoted him on his personal Twitter account that the next trio of games will “mark how the season will go”.

In other Leeds United news, Christiansen has also given an update on this striker’s availability ahead of the game with Ipswich.
