Christie looking like 'he's just signed a new five-year deal' at Celtic - pundit
Noel Whelan has heaped praise on Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie after his “wonderful” performance against Dundee.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Aberdeen and Leeds United striker said the 26-year-old’s commitment to the cause cannot be questioned after Sunday.
Christie provided three assists in a 6-0 win over Dundee at Celtic Park as Ange Postecoglou’s side capitalised on Rangers slip-up at Tannadice.
The winger has been in the headlines recently amid growing speculation over his future.
He has less than six months left on his current contract at Parkhead but Postecoglou is very keen to retain his services.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Christie’s form, Whelan said: “What a performance from Christie.

“The quality, skill and execution he showed down the left-hand side for the second goal was wonderful. There is not many players who can do that in the Scottish Premiership.
“I know his contract is coming to an end but you cannot question his commitment, that is for sure.
“That performance was spot on. It was the performance of a player who has just signed a new five-year contract.”
Speaking on Christie over the weekend, Postecoglou said: “He’s been fantastic from the moment I’ve come into the place with the way he’s training and the way he’s playing his football.
“He’s a fantastic footballer and he suits the way I want to play. But I’m not the master of his future, that’s in his hands.”
