Paul McShane is set to return for Reading for their crucial Championship clash against Leeds on Saturday evening.

GetReading reporter Jonathan Low posted on his personal Twitter account that McShane is set to return to action, with Tiago Llori and Liam Kelly also back in training.

However, Callum Harriot, Deniss Rakels and Anssi Jaakkola are out of the fixture which is set to take place at the Madejski Stadium.

Here is Low confirming the news of the huge fitness for Reading from Jaap Stam’s Wednesday press conference ahead of the Leeds game.

Centre-back McShane has been a key figure for Stam’s promotion chasing side this season as they will look to stop the threat from their promotion rivals.

During the reverse fixture, Leeds picked up a valuable 2-0 win against the Royals at Elland Road as another three points will help the Whites in the race for promotion.

Experienced defender McShane will be looking to secure a clean sheet for his side as he has played 29 league games for the club this season.

During that period, he has helped his team keep ten clean sheets but missed the 2-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday prior to the international break because of a hamstring injury.

Nonetheless, their opponents will be hoping their start man, Chris Wood will be fit for this encounter as the New Zealand international is currently the top scorer in the division.

Prior to the international break, Wood netted an impressive brace against automatic hopefuls Brighton at Elland Road.

In other Leeds news, Garry Monk has a massive decision to make as he should recall this 26-year-old for the Reading game.
