Massive Monk decision: Leeds should recall important 26-year-old for Reading showdown
COMMENT by Amir Mir
Every game seemingly gets bigger for Leeds as they edge closer to securing a play-off spot at the end of the season.
Garry Monk has made some shrewd, yet correct decisions over the course of the season and he will be faced with that task once again, this time during the crucial showdown against Reading at the weekend.
Prior to the international break, key defender Pontus Jansson was dropped to the bench for the Championship encounter against Brighton, a decision which paid off because Leeds went on to win the game and keep a clean sheet.
However, against fifth-placed Reading on Saturday, Monk has a massive decision to make as to whether he should bring Jansson back into the starting line-up.
The 26-year-old has been an important player for the club this term, building a great partnership with Kyle Bartley at the heart of the club’s defence.

He produced two stunning displays while on international duty with Sweden, which included a win against European champions Portugal.
As a result, Jansson will be in his typically confident and bullish mood which will bode well for the Whites if he plays on Saturday evening.
Three points could possibly see Monk’s side open up an 11-point lead on seventh-placed Fulham, a great opportunity, given the fact that only seven matches will remain.
