Liverpool have been dealt a massive blow with the news that Schalke 04 midfielder Leon Goretzka has agreed to join Bayern Munich, according to a top journalist.

Spanish outlet as confirmed that Liverpool had been pipped to his signature ahead of his summer move.
News of the transfer will undoubtedly come as a huge disappointment for the Reds who were thought to want the 22-year-old attacking playmaker as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho.
Goretzka has 12 caps for Germany and an impressive six goals.
Football Insider verdict:
This may be disappointing news for the Reds but the attacking midfielder has been struggling with injuries this season. The German broke his leg earlier in the campaign and has been struggling with the issue ever since. Goretzka is undoubtedly a talented midfielder but once the Bundesliga champions came in for him, it always looked as if there was only one place he would be heading, and not even the lure of compatriot Jurgen Klopp could see him join Liverpool. It is also questionable whether Liverpool actually needed a player like him, who is similar in style to Sadio Mane.
