WalesOnline has reported that the Liverpool fringe player is being lined up by Cardiff as someone who can help them in their bid for promotion to the Premier League.
It is understood that Middlesbrough and Aston Villa were also keen on the Serbia international, who has made just six appearances in all competitions this season, with just 14 minutes on the pitch in the Premier League.
Grujic is yet another midfielder to have left Liverpool this month, following Philippe Coutinho after he left for Barcelona.
Football Insider verdict
Grujic’s time at Anfield has been very tough for him. He arrived at Liverpool with a lot of potential but has not be able to realise it with his path to the senior team blocked. Klopp has not used as many young players as everyone thought he would have done on Merseyside. He brought through a lot of players with Borussia Dortmund but has only allowed a couple of youngsters to have much of a shot in the past couple of seasons. Grujic has not been one of them and a loan move is a good opportunity for him. If anything, the Serbia international should look to leave for good.
