Confirmed: Tottenham senior trio ruled out of clash v Crystal Palace

By Danny Wright

Tottenham have confirmed that Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama will not take part in the clash against Crystal Palace at Wembley on Sunday.

Lloris suffered a groin injury in Spurs’ win against Real Madrid on Wednesday night while Alderweireld was stricken with a hamstring injury in the first-half.

Wanyama has been a long-term absentee for the North London side with a knee injury that has required him to see a specialist and while he is still taking part in “fieldwork” he still remains sidelined.

Spurs confirmed that the senior trio will miss the Premier League showdown with Palace on their official Twitter account on Friday afternoon.

There is also a mystery about Erik Lamela’s return to the first-team as the Argentine attacker has now been out of action for over a year with a hip injury.

Pochettino hinted that the ex-Roma ace would return against West Ham last month, but he is yet to be seen on a matchday team sheet and there has been no update about him so far on Friday.

Tottenham will want to bounce back to winning ways in the league after losing 1-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford last week.

Jose Mourinho’s side moved three points clear of third-placed Spurs as the race for the title starts to heat up.

In other Tottenham news, Mourinho has made a big claim about Spurs after they beat Real Madrid.
