Conte ready to bin 'very, very big' Tottenham stars after source's De Vrij reveal

Antonio Conte may have already decided which Tottenham players to bin in the January transfer market, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker delivered his verdict after an update in Spurs’ bid to sign Stefan de Vrij.

A source with knowledge of the Inter Milan’s defender situation told Football Insider (November 15) he has told friends he is interested in a potential move to Tottenham in January.

De Vrij was one of Conte’s most trusted generals at Inter Milan as they won the Serie A title last season.

Conte has named the same starting XI in his first two games in charge of Spurs.

Ben Davies, Eric Dier and Cristian Romero have lined up in a back three with Emerson Royal and Sergio Reguilon as wing-backs.

But Agbonlahor has suggested the Italian may be ready to make big decisions on his squad.

He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Conte is going to make changes.

“He’s going to look that the performance in Europe, the performance against Everton and think ‘I’m not sure about some of these players’.

“He knows he’s got a big job on his hands there, a very, very big job on his hands.

“Any players he can get in, like de Vrij, during the January transfer window, he’ll snap their hands off to get them in straight away.”

De Vrij is under contract at Inter Milan at the end of next season.

The Netherlands international, 29, has missed just game all term as Inter sit in third in Serie A.
