Sources: Conte wants Tottenham to sign Inter colossus De Vrij and believes deal is possible
Antonio Conte has already suggested Inter Milan colossus Stefan de Vrij to Tottenham during negotiations to be their new manager, Football Insider understands.
Spurs are in the market for an A-list centre-back this summer and will listen to offers for the likes of Davinson Sanchez to raise funds.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that De Vrij, 29, has been mentioned by Conte as a top-class operator who could be lured from Inter.
The Italian giants are strapped for cash after being hit hard by the pandemic and struggled to pay their top stars during the recently-completed season.
De Vrij has two years remaining on his contract with Inter and his rated at around the £45million mark.
He is said to be rated by Conte even more highly than Milan Skriniar, who came close to joining Spurs last summer and again in January.

De Vrij was a mainstay of Conte’s Inter side that romped to the recent Serie A title with a 12-point cushion.
The 44-times Holland international is preparing for this summer’s European Championships after his starring role in that triumph.
Conte then quit on Wednesday of last week after being told he must offload top stars this summer.
He is discussing contract terms with the club as well as potential signings and how they would be funded.
Tottenham have been hit hard by the pandemic and are not expected to be big spenders in the summer window.
However, that could change if Harry Kane is sold for a £120million-plus fee and Conte is given the proceeds to transform the squad.
