Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has today reportedly agreed personal terms to join Spanish outfit Valencia, ending a 10 year career at The Emirates.
The France national earned over 100 appearances for the Gunners, but has seen his regular playing time diminshed this season, only featuring 13 times for Wenger’s side.
A lot of Arsenal fans are sad to see the midfielder go and have taken to Twitter to bid their farewell messages to the 26-year-old.
Here are a few of the best reactions:
Not technically the best but still always played with all his heart everytime he played for us. Aggression and passion on the pitch is something the squad severely lacks. Sad to see him leave. All the best for the future, Coquelin pic.twitter.com/9QgQmLMSHe

Coquelin had his qualities; tackling, game reading. But best of all was his passion and total commitment in games; literally put his body on the line all game. Would miss my French warrior.
Good luck Francis, best of luck in your new adventure. #Coquelin #afc

Coquelin is so underrated. Did all the dirty job when no one did . The season he and cazorla were in the midfield was truly a good one .Will miss the passion and fire .He simply was not good enough nor consistent. Good luck in Valencia. A true Gunner #Arsenal pic.twitter.com/vejD7I0OhB

Fans were quick to reminisce about the frightening partnership that Coquelin formed at the heart of Arsenal’s midfield with Santi Cazorla, which was one of Arsenal’s more succesful pairings in recent years.
The 26-year-old has tasted success during his stay in London, winning the FA Cup in both 2014/15, and in 2016/17 – also winning the FA Community Shield in 2015.
The midfielder has been a mainstay in the youth setup with the French national team, representing the European giants at all levels from Under17s to Under21s.
More first team action could be what is needed to springboard Coquelin into the mix for a seat on the Plane to Russia with the French senior team, although the 26-year-old is yet to receive his first cap.
In other Arsenal news, it has been reported that the Gunners are ready to trigger the release clause for this Argentine star.
