Helder Costa may have played his last game for Leeds United, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England striker insisted the Whites will need to add strength in depth to their squad next season or they could "struggle".

Costa has missed Leeds' last two matches with an injury picked up in the 0-0 draw with Manchester United last month.

Leeds United

Marcelo Bielsa revealed in his press conference ahead of their 3-1 win over Tottenham that the 27-year-old the injury has ruled him out for the season.

Asked whether his latest injury could mean he may never play for Leeds again, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I think so, yes.

“Leeds are going to want to get better. They’re going to want their substitutes to be better.

“[Jack] Harrison and Raphinha are the starters but you look at the bench and there’s not much coming from the bench. Apart from Rodrigo.

“All around the pitch, apart from a couple of defenders in [Robin] Koch and [Pascal] Struijk.

“But they definitely need to add to that bench. If they get more injuries they’ll struggle. They need to get stronger.

“Costa’s had his chances. He’s done OK in some games but in the Premier League and you’ve got to do more. Is he good enough? Probably not.”

Leeds United

Costa has played 22 Premier League games this term and has scored two goals and provided three assists.

Of those 22 appearances, 13 have been starts and he has only completed 90 minutes five times.
