Sources: Peterborough reject £4m Crystal Palace bid for Tottenham target Ronnie Edwards
Peterborough have rejected a £4million bid from Crystal Palace for defender Ronnie Edwards, Football Insider understands.
The England under-19 defender is regarded as one of the best young talents in the country and is on the radar of Premier League clubs including Tottenham, Aston Villa and Southampton.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Palace have made a formal move for Edwards but have been knocked back by the League One club.
The third-tier outfit, just relegated from the Championship, are holding out for a bigger fee for their prize asset.
There is strong competition for the rising star centre-back.

Peterborough are braced for bids from Spurs and other clubs now the window is open.
Edwards made 38 appearances in all competitions for the Posh in 2021-22 after his initial breakthrough the previous season.
The defender signed for Peterborough from Barnet in August 2020 following a successful trial period at the then-League One side.
Edwards is under contract at London Road until June 2025 after signing a fresh extension in May 2021.
As quoted by the Peterborough Telegraph (September 2021), director of football Barry Fry insisted Edwards could be worth “£10-20million” with a couple of seasons of Championship football under his belt.
He claimed the youngster is “a certainty to have an outstanding career in the game”.
Crystal Palace have announced their list of released players in the last 24 hours as they look to rejuvenate their squad ahead of next season.
