Crystal Palace 'have their fingers crossed' that '£188m' rival deal gets done
Crystal Palace are keeping a close eye on Michael Olise's future as Real Madrid line up a big-money move for the Bayern Munich star.
The 24-year-old has gone from strength to strength since swapping South London for Bavaria, and is currently enjoying a fantastic World Cup campaign with France.
That has led to speculation about his long-term future, with reports in Europe now claiming that Real Madrid are readying an offer worth as much as £188million for him.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Crystal Palace will be "crossing their fingers" a deal gets done, with a hefty financial bonus to fall their way.
The Eagles are believed to have included a 20 per cent sell-on clause in the £50million deal for Olise to join Bayern Munich, and a move to Madrid could see them land a huge fee.
Should a deal be done at £188million, Crystal Palace could be owed £37.6million, or a minimum of £27.6million if the clause is based on profit rather than the gross sum.
What is the latest on Michael Olise's Bayern Munich future?
Olise has been heavily linked with a move away from Bayern this summer, as Football Insider revealed that Liverpool have been keeping an eye on his situation.
However, Bayern's decision-makers have been outspoken publicly about their desire to keep hold of the France international and have insisted they will not entertain his exit.
Real Madrid, however, hold considerable pulling power, and president Florentino Perez is putting plans in place for a major overhaul of his squad.
"Michael Olise has been outstanding since he joined Bayern Munich," Brown told Football Insider.
"The talent was there to see at Crystal Palace, but now he's doing it on the biggest stage, and at the World Cup where he has been fantastic in what is a very strong France side.
"So it's no surprise there has been talk about his future, clubs like Real Madrid having a look at him and whether he could leave Bayern Munich.
"If you ask me, there isn't a player in the world who is worth £188million, but this is Real Madrid we're talking about and they may well be prepared to spend big.
"The big thing, though, is that Crystal Palace will have their fingers crossed that a deal gets done, because I'm told they will be due a significant percentage of the fee.
"Now that would be a major boost to them financially, if they could receive a fee like that for a player they sold a couple of years ago now.
"I believe that money would likely be reinvested into their own transfer plans, because they want to be active this summer and continue their success.
"So Palace will be keeping a close eye on what's happening with Olise and Real Madrid, and probably hoping an agreement can be reached at the highest price possible."
What are Crystal Palace's summer transfer priorities?
After what was a successful two-and-a-half years under Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace are preparing to begin a new chapter after the appointment of Pierre Sage.
Having won the FA Cup, Community Shield and Conference League in the last 13 months, they now want to build on that success ahead of next seaosn's Europa League campaign.
As a result, Palace are lining up ambitious transfer targets, with the addition of a new centre-back, right-back, central midfielder, and winger on their radar this summer.
The Eagles are closing in on their first signing of the summer after agreeing a deal for former Barcelona defender Oscar Migueza, but are unlikely to stop there.
Brown told Football Insider on 7 July that Crystal Palace are readying a move for RB Leipzig star Antonio Nusa, who has shone at the World Cup, after missing out two years ago.
