Crystal Palace 'make Ismaila Sarr exit decision' after Liverpool offer

Crystal Palace are standing firm in their stance that Ismaila Sarr is not for sale in the closing stages of the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Selhurst Park in recent days, with clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia looking to tempt him away.

Liverpool are the latest to have joined the race, with some sources reporting they have had a £50million offer rejected by the Eagles, who have been clear about where they see the Senegal international's future.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Crystal Palace are determined not to lose any more star players after Maxence Lacroix joined Chelsea.

Pierre Sage hopes to keep the bulk of his squad together alongside some new additions ahead of what he hopes will be another successful season in South London.

That stance could be complicated by the fact that Sarr has been training on his own at Palace's Copers Cope training ground, but Crystal Palace are planning to stand firm.

Could Crystal Palace accept a new offer for Ismaila Sarr?

Brown told Football Insider earlier this month that Crystal Palace have not ruled out selling Sarr, and a "huge" offer could be accepted, but they are very reluctant to see him leave.

The Senegal forward was the top scorer in last season's Conference League as he played a key role in Crystal Palace lifting European silverware for the very first time.

His importance to their team, previously under Oliver Glasner and now under Sage, has not gone unnoticed and they have no plans to let him leave as a result.

"Sarr has been crucial for Crystal Palace over the last couple of seasons," Brown told Football Insider.

"He scored tonnes of goals last season and was a big part in why they were successful again, so from Palace's point of view, he is key to their plans for the future.

"We've said the same thing about Crystal Palace since they won the FA Cup, they have to be doing everything in their power to keep their best players at the club.

"That's often easier said than done, but they already sold Lacroix earlier this summer, and they won't want to let another one go.

"If they are going to sell those players, the question becomes about where they can go to replace them, and in this case that would be very difficult for them to do.

"So it seems the decision has been made that Sarr will not be allowed to leave, they hope to keep hold of him because he's got such a big role to play in that side."

Which other clubs are interested in signing Sarr?

Liverpool have become the latest club to show their interest in Sarr, and have moved quickly to table a formal offer in an attempt to get ahead of their rivals in the race.

However, Sarr also has interest from a number of clubs willing to pay big money, including Saudi Pro League clubs and Galatasaray, who also saw an offer rejected by Palace.

Meanwhile, Football Insider reported last month that Man United have emerged as key contenders to sign Sarr and are big admirers of the winger after his displays for Palace.

Crystal Palace have been clear and firm in their stance, however, with offers from both Liverpool and Galatasaray having been dismissed out of hand.

Any interested club will need to come forward with a massive bid if they are to tempt Palace at this stage of the window, with just days remaining until the 1 September deadline.
