Mitchell registered three goals and four assists in 55 appearances from wing-back as he played a key role in their Conference League triumph.
He scored twice in their sole win of the campaign so far against Fulham earlier this month, proving that he is set to remain as a real asset under new manager Sage.
His contract is up at the end of this season, however, and sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Liverpool and Man United are keen on signing Mitchell on a free transfer.
Palace's board must move quickly to get his future tied down, especially as fans grow frustrated that they are willing to sell so many of their top players to bigger clubs.
Mitchell is believed to be content at Selhurst Park despite such interest, and now that Henderson has extended his deal, the club must work hard to get the 27-year-old tied down beyond next summer.
What has Sage said about Mitchell this season?
Sage knows that Mitchell is someone he can rely on, following some public criticism of other players that he believes are not pulling their weight in training.
The Frenchman gave a glowing review of his character both on and off the pitch after his brace away at Fulham, saying: "It's always a nice story when it happens like this, and especially with this guy because, you know, he's really shy.
"Everybody loves him in the dressing room. It's a good sign for the players from the academy because he gives away, and some of them trained with us this week and maybe we will need them in our games because they have opportunities to come and they have to take it.
"I saw a lot of players from the academy during pre-season. Now I have a good idea of their level and their potential to be with us, but Tyrick is a good example, and maybe sometimes you have to be a mirror, if I can say that, with what he did."
