Crystal Palace's stance on Pierre Sage revealed as expert rips into 'pundits'

Pierre Sage has been urged to ignore the noise from outside the club and prove Crystal Palace's doubters wrong this season.

This comes following the Eagles' 3-2 win against Fulham, where they came from behind twice to take their first three points of the Premier League season at Craven Cottage.

Many pundits and voices in the public eye have tipped Palace to struggle under Sage, but the manager has been backed for success despite those vocal critics.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that the win agains Fulham will be "massive" for Crystal Palace and Sage to relieve any pressure on his position.

The South London club now have a platform to build on ahead of their upcoming game against Ipswich, where another win would have their season well underway.

Palace have been heavily tipped for relegation by pundits, but Sage has not come under pressure from the club or the fans so far, who belive he will be a major success.

Will Pierre Sage prove Crystal Palace's doubters wrong?

Brown told Football Insider back in June that Sage would have a difficult task on his hands at Crystal Palace, with big-name sales and pressure to perform.

Taking over from Oliver Glasner, after the success he enjoyed at Selhurst Park, was always likely to bring pressure but the fans have been pleased with what they have seen so far.

Brown explained that Crystal Palace are prepared to give Sage time to get his ideas across and implement his plans, and the win against Fulham will relieve any question-marks.

"Lots of the talk about Pierre Sage has been coming from outside of Crystal Palace," he told Football Insider.

"From what I hear, they're happy to give him time to get his ideas across, and there have been positive signs even in the games they've lost at the start of the season.

"That win against Fulham will be massive for him and for the players, it gives that bit of confidence and a platform for them to built upon.

"Especially to come from behind twice, that's not easy to do in any game, so it will do them the world of good and maybe shut up some of the people talking from outside the club.

"These pundits who are predicting Palace to go down, what do they know about the inner workings at Crystal Palace? How often are they watching them play?

"So that sort of thing won't even be a consideration from within, they're focused on what they're doing and making progress in that respect.

"Every pundit in the world can tip them as an outside shout for relegation, but they just have to ignore all of the noise and get on with winning games."

Which Premier League manager could be the first sacking?

After Crystal Palace's win eased some of the outside pressure on Sage, a number of other Premier League managers have come in for criticism already this season.

After just three league games, questions are being asked of a number of top bosses, with worrying signs already beginning to show.

Football Insider reported on 7 September that Fulham boss Alvaro Arbeloa is the favourite to be sacked first in the wake of that defeat against Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, the likes of Roberto De Zerbi and Unai Emery are also facing criticism after slow starts and behind-the-scenes concerns at Tottenham and Aston Villa respectively.

Meanwhile, David Moyes has also been tipped to leave Everton, with questions being asked about his relationship with the board.
