Daniel Farke has ‘had enough’, Leeds board backed into corner amid latest exit talk
Daniel Farke has made new demands to be backed by the Leeds United board after calling his long-term future at Elland Road into question.
Ahead of their 1-0 win against Brighton at the weekend, the boss spoke out about having accomplished every target set for him following their return to the Premier League.
Leeds have risen to 14th in the table and are unbeaten in their last eight league games, and the boss is determined to build on that success ahead of next season.
Former Man United assistant manager Mick Brown told Football Insider that Farke’s public comments were made to encourage the board to be more ambitious.
After securing Premier League survival, there were concerns that the board could settle, but Farke has now moved to force Leeds to back their manager.

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider last month that Leeds could spend £100million this summer in an attempt to back the manager.
Having secured Premier League survival relatively comfortable following their first season back in the top flight, the whole club now plan to move forward together.

Farke’s comments are likely to accelerate the board’s ambitious plans, with the boss now calling on them to show some ambition for the long-term future.
“Farke has called on the board for more support,” Brown told Football Insider.
“He’s had enough with managing on a small budget and bringing in solid players without ever really making waves by bringing in top players to improve the squad.
“We have spoken before about the level of players Leeds need to bring in, and now it’s clear the manager wants to make progress in that department as well.
“He can’t keep squeezing the stone in that respect, he’s got everything he can out of this team.
“Now, the board are going to be forced to back him with better quality players and they will have to be ambitious to keep progressing.
“You start to get the feeling that after Leeds secured survival early, the club would’ve been happy with that, but the manager is saying it’s not enough.
“So there’s been a few suggestions he could leave Leeds, whether he walks away or they let him go, but now he’s challenged the board to back him and show some ambition.”
Could Farke leave Leeds this summer?
After his comments calling for the club to be ambitious and make progress, doubts have crept in about whether Farke sees his long-term future at Elland Road.
The boss listed off his achievements since taking charge in what many suggested could be a farewell speech given long-term concerns about his position.

However, Brown told Football Insider last month that Leeds have no plans to sack Farke and have been impressed by the work he has done in the Premier League.
That is despite having previously considered his position upon their promotion from the Championship and again mid-way through the season when concerns emerged.
Those ongoing doubts have led to questions about the stability of Farke’s position, but with his latest calls to be backed by the board, they now plan to do just that.
