Paul Robinson heaped praise on Daniel Levy after Tottenham published record revenue figures in the year ending June 2019.
The former White Hart Lane keeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, insisted the Spurs chairman be credited with creating the world’s best stadium and training facilities.
It comes after the Lilywhites announced revenue of £460.7million – an £80million increase on 2018 – and a pre-tax profit of more than £80m.
As revealed by Football Insider on Friday, Spurs have now secured three of the top-five profits ever secured by a Premier League club.
When asked how the record-breaking numbers reflect on Daniel Levy, Robinson told Football Insider: “Daniel is fantastic. The way that he has run the club over the years – the financial footing, building arguably the best stadium in the world and the best training facility in the world without a doubt – it is incredible. His attention to detail, the care and the love he has for the club is evident.
“He gets a lot of criticism for not putting his hand in his pocket but he does. If there is a better way of doing it then he will do it that way. He is a very well respected businessman.
“You can see what he has done for that club over the years. They are on a fantastic footing and all credit to him. They now just need to get it right on the pitch. He loves the club and he would want nothing more than it to go right on the pitch.”
The 2019/20 campaign marked the Lilywhites first season in their new £1billion stadium.
