Danny Mills exclusive: Senior star has surely played last game for Spurs after Mourinho claim
Danny Mills insists that Danny Rose has played his last game for Tottenham after claiming he was not given a chance to impress by Jose Mourinho.
The former Leeds and Manchester City defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, believes there is no way back for the 29-year-old after he left for Newcastle United on loan last month.
Speaking after his move to the north east, Rose claims that he was not given the same opportunities as his defensive teammates upon Mourinho’s arrival and that he found the situation “difficult” to deal with.
With the 29-cap left-back at Newcastle until the end of the season, Mills says he cannot see the England international playing for the north London giants again.
Asked if Rose had played his last game for Spurs, Mills told Football Insider: “Oh yes, without a doubt.
“He’ll come back off this loan spell, he’ll have a year left (on his contract) so I don’t see him lasting an awful lot longer than that, that is for sure.

“He was quite vocal to say: ‘I don’t really want to be here any more, I don’t want to sign a deal. I’ve got no intention of staying beyond whenever it is,’ and that doesn’t endear you to a new manager in any way, shape or form.
“If you want to go, you might as well go now because your heart is clearly not in this football club. Danny Rose needs to go out and play, he wasn’t given a chance maybe but it might be partly his own fault.”
Rose featured 16 times for Spurs during the first half of the season, the majority of those appearances coming during Mauricio Pochettino’s time in charge.
Since Mourinho’s arrival, he played in just five games, three of which came in the Premier League.
In other Tottenham news, it can be REVEALED that the club have terminated the contract of a rising star.
