Danny Mills shares relegation prediction amid 'horrific' Leeds United claim

Leeds United could find themselves in the bottom three by the end of the weekend ahead of the Premier League run-in, according to Danny Mills.

The former Whites defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Elland Road clubs’ “horrific” goal difference (minus 34) will be worth an extra point to Everton (minus 20) and Burnley (minus 15).

Leeds United face games against Arsenal (8 May) and Chelsea (11 May) in the coming days as Jesse Marsch’s side sit just two points ahead of the drop zone.

18th-place Everton face Leicester (8 May) and Watford (11 May) as they bid to climb out of the relegation zone – while Burnley could pull five points clear of danger with a win against Aston Villa (7 May).

As quoted by Leeds Live (6 May), Marsch has revealed his players have shown “emotional responses” after seeing results go against them in recent weeks.

Mills claimed the Whites could be in “serious trouble” if they fail to pick up points in the upcoming double-header.

“I mean, Watford are all but relegated,” he told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.

“It’s between Burnley, Leeds, and Everton for that final spot. If Burnley beat Villa – Leeds are in serious trouble.

“They’re already in trouble. Their goal difference is horrific. It’s like having one less point than the other teams.

“Everton can go above Leeds with a win, and they’ve got a game in hand.

It’s not inconceivable that Leeds could be in the bottom three by the end of the weekend.

“These two games are going to be massive for the chances of survival, but it’s two really tough games against top sides.”
