Darwin Nunez cited as 'big' Liverpool signing claim issued ahead of January - pundit

Alan Hutton has insisted the Liverpool squad needs a “big revamp” next summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said the Reds will need to be prepared to pay “high fees” and “high wages” in order to bring in “top players”.

Speaking to Sky Germany (31 October), Jurgen Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke said the Reds boss “enjoys the backing” of the people in charge and is regularly in contact with them.

He insisted the German is “determined” to continue and successfully complete the transition with Liverpool.

Sky Germany reported (1 November) that a “transfer offensive” is planned for the upcoming transfer windows.

When asked if Jurgen Klopp has been frustrated with a lack of transfer activity, Hutton told Football Insider: “He might be in certain areas.

For me, at this moment, midfield is key. But if you are going for titles and trophies, you need top players coming in. Which means high fees, high wages, and it is going to be big investment from the owners.

Whether they can do that in January I am not so sure but in the summer it will definitely need a big revamp within that squad.
