Darwin Nunez may be only Liverpool signing after 'unbelievable' update - pundit
Darwin Nunez may be the only significant signing made by Liverpool this summer.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the club’s latest capture.
On 15 June, Liverpool announced the signing of Nunez, 22, from Benfica in a deal which could cost a club-record £85million.
When asked if Nunez may turn out to be the club’s only significant arrival this summer, Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild, “Yeah, possibly.
“It is an unbelievable signing by the way. They don’t spend a lot of money apart from on Alisson and Van Dijk.

“But they were essentially freebies because of selling Coutinho.
“So this is the first big one where you think they have stuck their hand in their pocket.
“The other ones were done because of the Coutinho deal. I think it’s a great signing, I have to say.
“It will be interesting to see if anyone else comes in, we know Mane will but if anyone else leaves they will have to be replaced.”
Nunez joined the Portuguese side from Almeria in the summer of 2020 amid interest from Brighton.
He is likely to serve as a replacement for Sadio Mane, who is expected to leave the club this summer following six years with the Anfield club.
