David Prutton predicts Leeds v Burton

By Danny Wright

David Prutton believes that his former side Leeds United will continue their unbeaten start to the season with a win over Burton at Elland Road on Saturday.

The Sky Sports pundit has predicted that Thomas Christiansen’s men will turn out as 2-1 victors in the clash against a Brewers side that has won just one of their opening five Championship games.

Leeds go into Saturday’s action third in the table after winning three and drawing twice in August, however they are yet to pick up more than a point at home after a pair of goalless draws.

Prutton, 35, thinks that run will end against Burton and is backing the Whites to give the home crowd something to be excited about.

“Leeds are riding the crest of a wave, going into the break after a great win at Nottingham Forest. They’ve been expansive and exciting and on paper this is a home win for me – despite the fact both of their games at home so far have been goalless draws,” he said on the Sky Sports website.

“Burton looked in a bit of trouble after three games but have had some good results and Nigel Clough continues to do a great job. I can’t see them leaving Elland Road with a result though.”

Although it’s still early days, Leeds could potentially move into second place if results go their way over the course of this week’s action.

Ipswich are a point ahead of the Whites, who are yet to concede since the opening day of the season in the win against Bolton, while Cardiff top with Championship with their 100 per cent start still intact.

Burton are languishing in 21st place going into their visit to Elland Road and could potentially find themselves rock bottom by Monday.
