David Prutton predicts Newcastle v Leeds showdown
By Dominic Toner
David Prutton has predicted Leeds to draw when they travel to St James’ Park to face Newcastle on Friday night.
The Whites have an away match against Newcastle and will be looking to consolidate their position in the play-offs.
Garry Monk’s side have a five-point cushion over chasers Fulham and have just five games remaining to stay in the top six.
Meanwhile, Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle are second-placed in the Championship and have a great chance of securing automatic promotion.
Sky Sports pundit Prutton has tipped a 2-2 scoreline between the sides and expects a hard-fought match.

“This is a tough call,” Prutton told Sky Sports. ”Newcastle fans don’t like me going against them yet when I backed them to draw against Sheffield Wednesday they lost!
“Leeds, meanwhile, came good at Preston after a couple of defeats. It’s the business end of the season and for that reason I foresee a hard-fought draw at St James’ Park.”
Leeds will go into the match full of confidence after a 3-0 victory against Preston in their last match.
Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez and Souleymane Doukara kept their play-off bid going as they aim to be involved in the end of season drama.
The Yorkshire club have been very strong at Elland Road this season and will hope to emulate that form on Friday night.
Newcastle suffered a 2-1 away defeat at Sheffield Wednesday, but still have a 10-point cushion over third-placed Huddersfield.
They can take a giant step towards promotion if they can see off a resilient Leeds side, who they beat 2-0 in the previous meeting this season.
Dwight Gayle netted both goals in that match, but he has been ruled out this time around due to a hamstring injury.
In other Leeds news, the club’s supporters reacted on Twitter to Harry Kewell’s sacking.
