Davies tipped to sign for Celtic as Liverpool images emerge
Ben Davies should sign for Celtic on loan and make a name for himself, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted Davies is not going to get the opportunity to flourish at Liverpool as Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez returned to fitness.
The Daily Mail reported (9 July) that Celtic are back in the hunt to sign the 25-year-old.
Football Insider exclusively revealed during the winter window Liverpool had gazumped Celtic’s move for Davies.
He was close to agreeing a pre-contract deal with the Hoops before Liverpool launched a late bid.
But he is yet to make his first-team debut for the Reds and his task will be even more difficult next season.

Both Van Dijk and Gomez suffered season-ending injuries but both have been filmed in pre-season training in Austria.
Asked whether a move to Celtic would be good for Davies, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “That’s definitely the right thing to do.
“He’s not going to get the opportunity at Liverpool. Van Dijk’s back now, Gomez is back now.
“It just makes sense. Go play for Celtic, it’s a massive club. Go make a name for yourself.
“Then you can maybe come back after a long spell with some great experience under your belt.”
Davies played 145 times across all competition for Preston North End before moving to Liverpool.
The deal to take him to Anfield could reach £2million if all add-ons are met.
