Conor Hazard has agreed the terms of a new Celtic contract, it has been confirmed.

The Scottish champions announced on their official website and media channels on Wednesday morning that the rising star has signed a two-year deal.

The deal ties the Parkhead academy keeper to Celtic until the summer of 2019.

Coincidentally, the announcement of Hazard's agreement came on the same day that Celtic revealed that No1 Craig Gordon had signed up until June 2020.

Hazard is well placed to eventually follow in the footsteps of Gordon after making excellent progress this season.

The teenager, who joined the Celtic youth set-up from Cliftonville in 2014 has impressed for the development side and was promoted to the first team matchday squad last week for their 4-0 win away to Inverness.

The Northern Ireland youth international recently returned to action for the reserves following a spell on the treatment table and kept a clean sheet in Wednesday night’s 2-0 league win over St Mirren at Lennoxtown.

He will aim to continue his progress by learning from senior men Gordon and his understudy Dorus De Vries.
