'Very happy' - Tottenham star delivers exciting verdict on future of fans' favourite
Tottenham star Christian Eriksen has said that manager Mauricio Pochettino will have to decide about whether he remains with the club but that he feels the Argentine boss will stay on for the foreseeable future.
There have been claims that a number of clubs, including Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested in securing the services of the Spurs boss after impressing while at the north London club, where he has been since 2014 and established himself into a firm fans’ favourites.
Speaking of his manager’s future, Danish international Eriksen delivered the exciting verdict that supporters would want to hear, insisting that he believes Pochettino will remain at the club to continue building his squad into challengers on both the domestic and European stage.
He was quoted by Sportsmole as saying: “The players are happy with him and the club is very happy with him
“Of course, it’s his decision but I think what’s he’s building here he would like to be part of it.
“I think that’s what he showed when he signed his new deal, a long-term deal.
“Of course there will be interest from other clubs because he’s doing really well but hopefully he’ll stay.”
Pochettino has taken charge of 202 matches while at the helm of the Lilywhites, and has helped turn them from being on the fringes of the top four to regularly competing at the peak of the Premier League table.
They have challenged for the top flight title for two consecutive seasons, pushing shock victors Leicester City in the final stage of the season before finishing as runners up to runaway champions Chelsea during the last campaign.
