Diego Simeone new favourite to be next Chelsea manager after Liam Rosenior sack latest
Diego Simeone has emerged as the joint-favourite to become the next Chelsea manager.
Liam Rosenior is now under heavy pressure at Stamford Bridge after overseeing a defeat to Manchester United on the weekend.
The Blues have now lost all four of their last Premier League matches, with Champions League qualification now seemingly highly unlikely.
As a result, Simeone has been backed to join Chelsea at 4/1, with Oddschecker on 20 April confirming that these odds have been slashed.
The 55-year-old has been manager of Atletico Madrid since 2011, and could now make a shock switch to Chelsea.

VISIT THE MANAGER HUBDiego Simeone continues to be linked with Atletico Madrid departure
After being at the Spanish giants for 15 years, Simeone’s long-term future at Atletico Madrid looks increasingly doubtful.
The manager is under contract until 2027, but his failure to deliver a trophy in recent years has led to criticism.

On Saturday, Atletico lost the Copa del Rey final to Real Sociedad on penalties as they continue to search for their first piece of silverware since 2021.
While they are still in the Champions League, and are set to play Arsenal in the semi-finals, if they do not win the competition, this campaign will likely be seen as a failure.

On top of this, in March, new majority owners Apollo Sports Capital took control of Atletico, bringing fresh voices and higher expectations to the club, which has only increased speculation.
Therefore, Chelsea may see this as the perfect time to make a move in the summer and bring one of Europe’s elite managers to Stamford Bridge.
Can Liam Rosenior survive Chelsea pressure?
Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider that he does not believe Rosenior will be in charge of Chelsea next season.
The manager has struggled for weeks now at Stamford Bridge, and has lost nine of his 22 games in charge.
While he is still in the FA Cup, the competition could be his only chance to end the season on somewhat of a high note.
Nevertheless, Rosenior has claimed that he feels “100%” support from the club’s ownership despite a run of four league defeats without a goal.
However, if another defeat were to follow on Tuesday when the Blues take on Brighton and Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium, his long-term position will look even bleaker.
