Djeidi Gassama getting ‘offers’ from clubs as Rangers future takes new twist
Djeidi Gassama could pursue a move to a European club ahead of the summer transfer window as Rangers brace for an offer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 22-year-old was subject to a £10million offer from Monaco in January which would have seen him join on loan before making the permanent switch this summer.
Monaco’s offer was turned down by Danny Rohl’s side at the time, but there is a now a feeling a similar bid could tempt the Ibrox club to sell.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Gassama is increasingly likely to leave Rangers after a disappointing end to the season.
Having missed out on qualification for the Champions League, the winger could pursue a move to a club playing in Europe, in a blow to Rangers’ transfer plans.

Football Insider revealed on 22 May that Rangers are battling to keep Gassama as Rohl is reluctant to lose key players from his squad ahead of next season.
The Ibrox club hope to turn around their recent form after the summer window and believe they will need to keep hold of their best players to do so.

However, with no Champions League football on offer, Gassama could be tempted to pursue a move elsewhere in search of playing at a higher level.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “It’s going to be a big summer ahead for Rangers. We’re expecting a lot of players to come and go at Ibrox.
“Gassama, as you said, there was bit of interest around him in January. It’ll be interesting to see if that resurfaces in the summer window.
“Missing out on the league title and potential qualification to the Champions League will be a big blow to Rangers.
“Obviously it makes them bit more susceptible to offers from other clubs for their players, and there will be clubs willing to offer that to him.
“He’s under contract until 2029, but as I said, missing out on Champions League football will make them susceptible to other clubs maybe moving for some of their best players.
“Clubs playing in Europe will be well-placed to tempt him away, and the player might be interested in playing at a higher level if an offer comes along.”
Which other clubs are interested in signing Gassama?
Monaco are far from the only club interested in signing Gassama this summer, with clubs across Europe keeping tabs as well as those in the Premier League.
His performances in the Scottish Premiership, particularly since Rohl’s appointment, have inspired interest from a number of clubs south of the border.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in February that Premier League clubs are watching Gassama with scouts keeping tabs on his development.
The finances involved in any move to the Premier League would likely prove tempting for the club and the player, and they could be well-placed to get a deal done.
English clubs have been keeping a close eye on his performances this season and could now step up their interest as clubs will be tempted to move.
