Done deal: Defender confirms Leeds switch on Twitter
By Danny Wright
Former Deportivo youngster Hugo Diaz has confirmed that he has signed for Leeds on social media.
The 20-year-old defender changed the bio on his personal Twitter account to say he is a “player of LUFC” meaning that he has reached an agreement with the Yorkshire club to become yet another addition to their Under-23 squad this summer.
Diaz also changed the bio on his personal Instagram account to say the same thing and also changed the profile pictures on both of his social media pages to show him at the Leeds academy.
Leeds have not only been very busy in bolstering their first-team squad this summer, they have also been making sure that the future looks bright having secured the signature of a number of dazzling youngsters.
The Whites don’t usually confirm the arrival of new young players, but Alejandro Machuca, Ousama Siddiki, Kun Temenuzkhov, Oriol Rey and Adrian Balboa have all signed for the Championship side, as well as Madger Gomes, who did have his arrival announced when he joined from Liverpool.

Football Insider Verdict
There is no doubt a major Spanish influence at Leeds with Victor Orta as their director of football and the club’s link to Cultural Leonesa in the Segunda Division. Diaz looks like he is the latest to be coaxed to Yorkshire and he will no doubt be in good company with players like Siddiki and Rey coming from some of La Liga’s biggest teams. It remains to be seen if any of them have a future at Elland Road, but with the high volume of youngsters coming in, it looks very likely that at least one of them will be knocking on Thomas Christiansen’s door in the future to try and get into the senior squad. Everything is looking promising at Leeds since Andrea Radrizzani’s completed takeover.
