Done deal for defender to join Tottenham - reliable journalist

Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez will soon complete a transfer to Tottenham, according to a reliable Dutch journalist.
Sjors van Veen, who is an increasingly renowned source of transfer news regarding Holland-based players, claimed on his personal Twitter account on Saturday evening that it is a “done deal” for Sanchez to join Spurs.

The journalist explained that he did not know how much the Premier League club will pay for the Colombia international, 21.
It has been reported that Spurs are ready to pay a club-record fee for Davison, which will exceed the £30million spent on Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela.
The south American centre-back, who can also fill in at right-back, has been targeted after making a huge impact at Ajax following his £3.8million transfer last summer.

Spurs are yet to buy anyone so far this summer, a situation causing concern for fans and players, judging by the comments of defender Danny Rose.
Mauricio Pochettino has continued to insist Tottenham will be active before the 31 August transfer deadline amid reports that they will eye three new signings.
Football Insider verdict:
The pressure is on the Spurs top brass to strengthen a squad that appears worryingly short of numbers ahead of the new campaign. With Rose going public with his fears, a stance that will surely be shared by many of his teammates, the club’s transfer policy is firmly under the microscope. It is questionable whether the signing of defender Sanchez would cut the mustard. Proven stars are needed, as well as potential ones. The likes of Ross Barkley would be able to hit the ground running and make a fairly immediate impact in Pochettino’s side. It could be some time before Sanchez can do the same.
