Juventus are yet to reach an agreement with Aston Villa over a proposed swap deal that includes the signing of Douglas Luiz, sources have told Football Insider.

Talks have been held in recent days between the two clubs over a cash-plus-players exchange involving Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior heading to Villa Park.

But there has been no breakthrough in their discussions and a deal is unlikely to be agreed before the 30th June cut-off by which time Villa are keen to finalise a big-money sale.

However, talks with Chelsea over the sale of Jhon Duran are more advanced after the player reached an agreement in principle with the club.

Sources say the 20-year-old striker could complete a £40million move to Stamford Bridge as early as this week, with Villa needing to sell amid financial concerns.

Aston Villa in advanced talks as Jhon Duran exit draws closer

Luiz's future remains up in the air as a deal involving Iling-Junior and McKenna is not yet at an advanced stage.

Juventus are keen to bring the Brazilian to Italy, while Villa need to raise money through player sales, but the sides have been unable to come to an agreement that suits both parties.

Duran, meanwhile, is expected to be the first summer exit from Villa Park in a big-money move to Stamford Bridge despite having started just ten games for the club.

Since arriving from Chicago Fire in January 2023, the Colombian has made 49 appearances in total, scoring eight goals as he competes with Ollie Watkins for a starting role.

Profit and sustainability concerns mean the club needs to sell players before 30 June through fear of a possible breach and points deduction
