Birmingham City rave about Liam Millar after what he did vs Derby County – ‘Unreal’
Birmingham City fans are already falling in love with Liam Millar after the winger picked up two assists in their 2-1 victory over Derby County on Saturday.
Eyebrows were raised on deadline day when the Blues managed to secure the 26-year-old on a season-long loan.
This was despite the fact that the Canada international scored the winner for Hull City in a 1-0 victory against Coventry City just days prior.
However, Birmingham City appear to be reaping the rewards of this decision, as Millar put in a match-defining display against the Rams.
The attacker proved to be a creative genius at Pride Park and helped ensure that the visitors came from behind to collect all three points.
Now, it has not taken long for Birmingham fans to rave about their summer signing as he continues to impress.
Birmingham City fans in love with Liam Millar after Derby display
Millar had already impressed on his debut for Birmingham after he caused Wolverhampton Wanderers all sorts of problems in their 2-2 draw on Sunday.
However, the 26-year-old really came to life at Pride Park, and Derby simply could not handle him.
Birmingham fans absolutely adored the display as Millar collected his first two goal contributions for the club.
As a result, many Birmingham fans have been quick to take to X to praise the display as they came away with all three points.
How good was Millar vs Derby?
According to Fotmob on 12 September, Millar was excellent against Derby and was easily one of the best players on the pitch in Birmingham’s victory.
Overall, he created three chances, two big chances, had an xA of 0.44, completed two out of five crosses, made one tackle, one interception and won two out of his five ground duels.
Therefore, if Millar keeps up these types of displays for the rest of the season, there is no doubt that Birmingham will have an excellent chance of winning promotion back to the Premier League.
However, it remains to be seen if the Blues are able to ensure that Millar remains this creative throughout the campaign as he looks to win promotion to the top-flight in back-to-back campaigns.
